String Theory Extra Dimension Simplified

String theory more specifically M-theory suggests that there could be 11-dimensions in the universe. There are multiple explanations about, how to imagine a dimension beyond what we can see in our 3 Dimensional world.

Physicist Brain Green explains it, from a view of an ant walking on a wire. The ant not only sees the dimensions x its path forward, y the width of the wire and z the depth of the wire it sees a dimension that is circular around the wire. That explains a complex 4th dimension that we can’t really see in real time considering our size is exponentially higher than that of an ant.

These predictions also say that there could be align life right next to us, but because of their dimensions being higher we wouldn’t be able to perceive them. This idea is intriguing which kept me thinking for along time and I have arrived at an understanding which is very easy to imagine, you wouldn’t have to imagine an ant’s view of the world instead you can imaging a big very big paper.

Paper..?! Aww!

Yes, just a big balled up paper. Imagine yourself being in big balled up paper in one of its irregular folds there’s a space that you can stand in. Think of it as your world and your dimensions being in that one fold. Now of-course you can see a lot of folds in a balled up paper which could make up different dimensions. Some folds can be tightly packed making the observer in that fold, could see only one dimension. You can imagine from here. Its just food for thought. Let me know what you think.
